Final Score: Falcons-19 Cowboys-13
While I anticipated a much higher scoring matchup, my prediction that Matt Ryan would improve his unbelievable home record was accurate. Besides a somewhat shocking drive where Tony Romo led the Cowboys straight down the field, the Cowboys offense was stagnant. Not much better was the Falcons offense.
Atlanta moved the ball nicely but once nearing the endzone, the Falcons offense would stall. Atlanta only scored one TD on the ground by Michael Turner and Tony Romo didn't even turn the ball over. Meanwhile, the Cowboys still found themselves on the losing end pushing their record to 3-5. Atlanta remains unbeaten but only one game up on Chicago for the 1 seed in the NFC. Atlanta keeps on winning as does Chicago.
The team who truly needs the number 1 seed is in fact the Falcons. Here are my reasons why.
Reason 1- Matt Ryan does not lose very often at home. With Matty Ice under the helm, Atlanta has only lost 6 total games in the Georgia Dome. Even though Atlanta did lose once at home in the playoffs, from their 24-2 defeat last year on the road to New York, it definitely shows they need to play in Atlanta when it comes playoff time.
Reason 2- The other reason I believe Atlanta needs the home field advantage is the dome advantage they have. Chicago is a much better balanced team. The Bears can run the ball through Matt Forte, throw the ball to Brandon Marshall, and the Bears defense can put up points themselves. Unlike Chi-town, the Falcons rely heavily on their passing attack. While that is very effective, playing outside in the rain or swirling winds in Chicago, per say would be very difficult for this Atlanta squad.
If Atlanta can remain atop the NFC they will have an excellent chance of bringing the Lombardi trophy back to Atlanta.

Sportacular Sports Denver Broncos vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Peyton Manning and Co. Visit the 3-4 Bengals in the most pivotal game of the weekend. Denver has a chance to take a lead in the AFC West and push themselves into prime playoff position. The Bengals, likewise, need a victory to stay in the race for the AFC North. A loss leaves the Bengals near the bottom of the Wild Card race and ultimately out of the divisional race.
Peyton Manning looks like the pre-surgery Peyton Manning and cannot be stopped. Unlike in Indianapolis, Denver presents a defensive challenge for opponents. Peyton Manning doesn't need to outscore everyone anymore but he can if he needs to. With a win, Denver will have an excellent opportunity to return to the playoffs.
The Cincinatti Bengals find themselves in a must-win situation. The Ravens should have a cakewalk with the Browns today and a Bengals loss would put them 3 games back minus the tiebreaker with Baltimore. One positive in this disappointing season is A.J. Green who has caught TDs in every game besides 1 this season. After an excellent Rookie season, Dalton is in the same slump as Cam Newton.
Prediction: Broncos-31 Bengals-24

Sportacular Sports Baltimore Ravens vs. Cleveland Browns
The injury-ridden Baltimore Ravens travel to Cleveland to face the up and coming Browns. Baltimore has defeated Cleveland the last 6 times they have played them. But this is a Ravens team without leader Ray Lewis and top CB Lardarius Webb.
The Browns have added ROY candidate Trent Richardson and 29 year old rookie Brandon Weeden. While the Browns record isn't stunning they play teams a lot closer than the games should be. In Baltimore, Cleveland fell 23-16 and had multiple chances to tie it up late in the game.
Now for Baltimore, the Ravens have only played one game without Webb and Lewis but did get last year's DPOY back. Terrell Suggs was the only bright spot in Houston's blowout loss two weekends ago. Under coach John Harbaugh, the Ravens have yet to lose coming off the Bye. Ray Rice traditionally dominates the Browns on the ground but Joe Flacco usually struggles on the road. It's about time that Flacco shows up on the road and there might not be a greater opportunity than this Sunday.
Prediction: Ravens-27 Browns-21
The Browns will play a tight one but somehow the Ravens find a way to beat the not very good teams. 2 Td's from Flacco and a score from Rice will be enough to counter Trent Richardson's TD. Birds by 6.
